Why does taking Vit D3 cause me to be extremely tired/ fatigued? I have tried taking it several times in the past and each time I start with 2000IU daily and within 2-3 days I am a zombie. the sleep is great but I cant function. Any thoughts?
You probably have a magnesium deficiency. You can read about the co-factors needed for vitamin d here at http://www.vitamindcouncil.org/about-vitamin-d/vitamin-d-and-other-vitamins-and-minerals/. I would suggest that you get a magnesium supplement but do NOT get magnesium “oxide” because it does not absorb as well as other magnesium supplements. You will probably have to take a total of between 500-800mg a day. What I do is try and spread it out during the day with meals. I would try doing that for a week or two before trying the Vitamin D again. If that does not help let me know!
Two suggestions – – Take vitamin k2 as well (needed to help the body do good things with the increased calcium absorption). – Most people could do with increasing their magnesium intake. I have tried many varieties, but I have settled on Magnesium Ascorbate powder, to provide my Mg and C intake
