I had gastric bypass and as a result I do not absorb fat soluble vitamins. Vitamin D seems to be causing me the biggest issues. After recently getting my blood work back my doctor prescribed 50,000 IUs 3x per week. I've been as low as 17 and after taking 50,000 IUs 2x a week for 3 months I'm up to 20. After reading some articles on this forum, my question is would out be better to take 10,000 IUs twice a day 7 days a week? Also what form of Vit D3 has the best absorption rate — caplet or tablet? (I think at this amount of IUs it would be hard to get in a drop). I'd greatly appreciate any recommendations for the best brand! Thank you.
