How long is the half life for vitamin D3 and for vitamin D2 and/or for 25-OH? How long after supplementing does vitamin D stay in your serum?

Well you never want to take D2.
As for D3 25OHD levels, they reduce themselves every two weeks by half. So for example you get the blood test and your level is 50ng/ml. If you do not take any more supplements or get any sunshine then your level would be 25ng/ml (give or take) two weeks later.

Thank you so much! Do you have any references for this information?

“Serum concentration of 25(OH)D is the best indicator of vitamin D status.” “It reflects vitamin D produced cutaneously and that obtained from food and supplements [1] and has a fairly long circulating half-life of 15 days [5].”
