How long does it take to raise your vitamin D levels? My recent lab results showed my level at 11 and it was 28 a year ago. My doctor put me on 50,000 iu of Ergocalciferol once per week. It will be interesting to see if this deficiency is what has caused by chronic headaches and depression for the past few years.

Ergocalciferol is D2 and NOT D3. It will not raise your D3 level or change the 25ohd level. Most doctors still do not know that they should give D3 and not D2. So 50,000iu once a week translates to 7000 iu of D3 a day. It is much better to take it on a daily basis rather than weekly if possible. (You can get D3 capsules that have 50,000 iu.)

It should take a couple of months to get your D level to the 50ng/ml that we promote at the VDC. It should help/cure with your headaches and depression.
