Hi i am trying to find out what daily dosage to take of Vitamin D.I am a 53 year old female and i have Hashimoto's and my level was 81.6 when tested about 4 weeks ago>My dr said this is normal but i keep reading conflicted opinions.Can you please help?

    Hi there,

    Thanks for reaching out! Was your level 81.6 ng/ml or nmol/l? Also, are your currently supplementing with vitamin D?

    If your level is 81.6 ng/ml, that is just above the recommended range of 40-80 ng/ml. This level will not increase your risk of vitamin D toxicity (which occurs when levels reach over 150 ng/ml), but research hasn’t shown that maintaining levels this high will provide an added health benefit.
