Reply To: Hi, Im a 54 yr old woman with a diagnosis if Fibromyalgia. I was recently tested for vit d and was found to have a level of 7.6 ng/ml. I have been prescribed 20,000iu 3 x weekly for 3months followed by 800iu 2 x daily for another month. I havent been prescribed vit K with the supplement. I have read here its better to take it daily. Do i need to ask my GP for a daily dose instead of the high alternate day dosage? My GP hasnt mentioned anything about testing my calcium or vit d levels before i finish the course. Also I have Ulceritive Colitis, not avtive for a few years. Could this be a reason for my low vit d? Just to make things even more complicated I am presently tapering off Duloxetine. I only took it for 4 days but was advised a taper would be the best way to stop takingbit given the issues there can be withdrawing from it (Im also very sensitive to drugs actoss the board). Ive been having a low mood, especially on waling up, and know this can be an effect of reducing the Duloxetine but I was wondering if this is possibly being heightened by the low vit d. Is this likely? Im so glad I found you! Thanks for your time.
