I have be struggling with low Vitamin D levels. My doctor prescribes me the 4week vitamin supplement and I take one a week. After I have finished them I take a blood test and the levels remain low. I recently read that low vitamin D is linked to low thyroid but my thyroid tests are normal. She is a PA and I don't think she is very knowledgeable about vitamins. Is there anything she could be missing? Do you have suggestions on what I should ask her to check? Thank you for your help.

If possible I hope you can supply more information.
When you say low do you have the actual Vitamin D measurement/ figure and I need to know how it is measured which will be either nmol/l or ng/ml.
When you say once a week for four weeks how much are you taking in that one dose? Also VERY important is what type of Vitamin D is it D2 OR D3?
Do you have any major illnesses or take medication for anything?
This will help me decide what is wrong.
