i am a 46 year old female and my vitamin D level is 23. Im taking D-3 5000 IU 1 x a day. Is that the correct amount. I have been taking for 5 days and do feel better.

    If you are around the average weight of 150lbs, then 5000iu is great. I am glad you are feeling better! If you have not already you should read http://www.vitamindcouncil.org/about-vitamin-d/vitamin-d-and-other-vitamins-and-minerals/.
    We recommend maintaining a blood level of 50ng/ml or slightly higher. Just so you understand once you reach that level you do not stop supplementing or your levels will plummet again. If you are dealing with any kind of major health issue(s) than please write back and tell me because that may change my advice!
