Possible misdiagnosis leads to baby taken from parents

Posted on: May 10, 2016   by  Vitamin D Council

A three month old infant was taken from a couple’s home due to the presence of 20 bone fractures across his body. The doctor claimed it was child abuse, but the parents are desperately trying to prove their innocence so that their infant can return home. They have worked with medical experts, including Dr. Michael Holick, to find an explanation for the numerous fractures. Holick states that vitamin D deficiency and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome likely caused the multiple fractures.
