My Dear Friends

Posted on: December 31, 2012   by  John Cannell, MD

Thank you. What a year it has been.

Clinical trials this year have found vitamin D to be helpful for a range of diseases, including respiratory infections, prostate cancer, infant heart failure, leg ulcers, traumatic brain injury, general musculoskeletal pain, COPD, cystic fibrosis, depressed patients taking Prozac, HIV, TB, MS, obesity, lupus, hepatitis and more. Amazing, really.

It has been a joy to see the research pour out and to be able to relay this information out to the public with your help. Although much work needs to be done, I do believe we’ve made some serious strides this year in becoming a world with better vitamin D awareness.

For those who have been so kind to donate at some point this year, thank you very much. Some of you have very generously donated within the past few days. There are so many charities to give to and the economy has been down, but you have still found a way to give to our organization. We couldn’t have done it without you.

For those still considering of giving to a few charities this last day of the year, I am asking you to consider the Vitamin D Council one final time before we move onto 2013. The Council is truly impacting so many people with so many different conditions.

We are small but we are growing and need the support of individuals to continue to move forward. In 2011, we increased our income by 25% from 2010. This past year, we have kept expenses down by 15%. In other words, this is a small, but growing and responsible organization that is moving in the right direction.

We want to grow with you. Please, consider once more, making a tax-deductible donation to the Council today. You can either do it online through PayPal (you do not need a PayPal account), or through the mail, as long as the check is dated in 2012. Mail it out soon. Our address is here:

1241 Johnson Ave #134, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401

Thank you for your consideration,
