What is the recommended dosage for patients with end stage renal disease. Should they be on a vitamin D analog instead since vitamin D must be converted to its active form by the kidneys?

    As we cannot offer any medical advice, it is best in this situation to continue to work with your doctor to find a dose that is safe and effective in raising your levels.

    Your doctor knows your medical history best, so he/she can take your kidney function into consideration when looking into normal vitamin D supplementation or an analog.
