What dose of gestational supplementation secures vitamin d level higher than 75 nmol/L in a newborn?

    I do not want to misinterpret your words. Are you asking how much Vitamin D to give a “newborn” who has a level of 75nmol/l at this point in time?
    We usually recommend 1000iu for every 25lbs of body weight.
    Here at the VDC we believe in maintaining “healthy levels” of 125nmol/l(50ng/ml). If you breastfeed you would need to take a minimum of 6000iu a day or else your breast milk will not contain Vitamin D? Formula does contain Vitamin D but it is not enough.
    If the baby is having any kind of health issues, please advise because the recommendation might be to give more.
