My 7 yrs and 11 mths old son has been suffering from eczema, rhinitis and asthma for last 6+yrs. On 9th March 2017 his 25(OH)D3 was at 9.75. In addition to cortesone and sulbutamol sulphate he was for the first time in his treatment history, was prescribed Vit D3(60,000IU) 1 sachet ODx10days. But there after too he sustained attacks ( milder I think). This time his 25(OH)D3level was found to be lower at 8.25. Another spell of D3 supplement had to be prescribed 29th August 2017 with the same dosage. But still he had another attack 2 days ago i.e., 8th requiring administration of sulbutamol sulphate inhalation 4 times yesterday.
I am aware that you are not going to medical advice .Still I would like to hear from you if any general advice you may offer. I would like to know if there is any minimum number of months or years that is required for long term result? However, I am going to consult the asthma doctor who is treating my child. But I want to know if long term D3 supplementation may be required for my son?
