VDC test kit slider
I'm new hear and wanted to see what other vitamin D deficient folk have to say. In April I had a horrible panic attack for no reason, and the coming days after I fell into a major depression with anxiety 24/7. I started taking supplements like B vitamins and omegas which I noticed helped a bit but the anxiety is still there, every single day. I soon started having stomach issues like constipation, diarrhea, and acid reflux everyday. My bowels haven't been normal since April. I also started having random and sudden bursts of panic during the day to go along with everything. Now I have aches like tension headaches, migraines, and I noticed the back of my right shoulder has been aching and runs down the same arm. After all this started my eyes began showing floaters and my memory went totally downhill. I went the doctor and demanded more blood work done and he added a D test this time which came back low. He didn't say how low but told me to take 2000 IU daily. Do these symptoms match other D deficient sufferers or should I be worried about something else? Also for being deficient 2000 IU seems low to me, what do you all think? Much appreciated!

Low Vitamin D can be attributed to many symptoms. You should really try and get the exact Vitamin D figure and make sure you know whether or not the measurement is in ng/ml or nmol/l.
If you are very low then the 2000iu will not be enough. We recommend most people take 5000iu a day. Most protocols, when people are low, are to give them 50,000 iu a week which equals about 7000iu a day. This is for about 8 weeks and then levels are retested. If they are at 50ng/ml which is what the VDC recommends then a maintenance dose of 5000iu a day after that.( It is safe to take 10,000iu a day.)
I would say that if you take a higher amount of Vitaminm D and things are not steadily improving, then the cause is something else.
I would also read http://www.vitamindcouncil.org/about-vitamin-d/vitamin-d-and-other-vitamins-and-minerals/. It is very important. If you have a magnesium deficiency or are low you will end up causing more symptoms.
Let us know how you are fairing and if the Vitamin D helped!
