I will be purchasing bio-tech D3-5, but I understand Vitamin A may be needed to help assimilate it. I also should take a good multivitamin too. Does Vitamin suggest an specific brands to address the vitamin A issue and other further vitamin deficiencies?

Biotech is the best for Vitamin D. As for anything else, no we have no particular brands to recommend.
If there is enough Vitamin A in your diet and or you also take a multi vitamin, you may not need any extra Vitamin A.
What most people are usually deficient in is magnesium. If your diet does not contain enough and you do not supplement, the Vitamin D may cause symptoms. These symptoms can be •Irritability or anxiety, Nausea, Headaches, Insomnia, Fatigue, Muscle cramps/twitching, Weakness and constipation. Some types of magnesium are better than others. As a rule of thumb ones ending in “ate” are better. For example magnesium citrate.
If you have not already please read http://www.vitamindcouncil.org/about-vitamin-d/vitamin-d-and-other-vitamins-and-minerals/.
