There are several ways you can fundraise for the Council outside of contributing yourself! As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Vitamin D Council is registered on third-party donation sites like First Giving and Causes. We’ll explain more.
Are you a runner? Event planner? Walker? Rallier? Biker? Outgoing? Swimmer? All of the above? At First Giving, people can fundraise for nonprofits all over the United States by participating in events and asking their friends to support and sponsor them. Then, all the proceeds of their fundraising efforts are given to a nonprofit of their choice.
It very much works like old-fashioned fundraising runs/walks, where runners are asked to collect donations from acquaintances, friends and family to compete in the event.Only difference is that First Giving does this online, at any event, in support of any nonprofit.
The Vitamin D Council has yet to have a person fundraise for the them via First Giving, but we’d feel awfully grateful if you took the initiative to be the first one! Hop on our page today.
Interested in starting your own appeal and asking your friends to support the Vitamin D Council, independent of the Council’s involvement? Causes.com allows people to fundraise for nonprofits and start their own appeal, without getting the nonprofit involved.
In the case of vitamin D, maybe there is a special topic that is important to you that the Council doesn’t focus on, but vitamin D is implicated in, like multiple sclerosis, rickets or breast cancer. You want to fundraise for the cause of multiple sclerosis, but want to see proceeds go to the Council’s education efforts, rather than donate to an MS organization or to the Council directly.
In this case, Causes.com is a great fit to let the public rally behind what issue is important to you, while having proceeds go toward the nonprofit of your choice. Check out our page on causes.com.
