Iam diagnosed with Vitamin D deficiency . My level of vitamin D is 17 ng/ml. My doctor pescribed me cholecalciferol capsule 60000 IU weekly. I am asthma patient so i was concerned if it will have any side effects.Is it okay to take it? please reply soon . thankyou

    Yes, it is OK to take it and would be very good for you. Sometimes a Vitamin D deficiency can even make asthma worse. So once your deficiency is treated, you may notice a difference.
    Once you have been treated you need to take a maintenance dosage of 5000iu a day or else your levels will plummet again. We here at the VDC believe in maintaining a healthy level of 50ng/ml. At levels below 40ng/ml and your chances for cancer and autoimmune disease increase dramatically.
