While there are many risk factors, there is good evidence that solar ultraviolet B irradiance and vitamin D reduce the risk from ecological and observational studies. It appears that serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] levels above 30-40 ng/mL would reduce risk of NHL by 10-30%. Higher serum 25(OH)D level is also associated with increased survival after diagnosis of NHL.
